Dr. Mansour Assery
In 2008, RCsDP got approval from the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) to offer a Master of Science degree program in Dentistry. In the same year, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) also officially approved dental specialties Certification programs designed by the College. In addition SCFHS granted accreditation and approval to the RCsDP to train dentists for Board Certification. The outcome of these approvals was the intake in September 2009 of four graduate students (for Masters Degree & Certificate) and eight dentists for residency programs that will lead to Board Certification.
At the beginning of the 2009/2010 academic year, Riyadh Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy (RCsDP) commenced postgraduate dental studies which combine a Master's Degree with Certification in a Dental Specialty. This did not happen by chance. It happened because of the forward planning of the Administration of RCsDP to offer graduate education at the earliest feasible time in the exciting and evolving history of the Institution.
The Institution has every reason to be proud of this achievement. As the first privately-supported higher Institution of learning to offer graduate dental studies, we have joined those government Institutions who started graduate dental education before us. The common goal is the training of young men and women to become proficient and competent professionals who will give quality dental care to the people of Saudi Arabia and beyond.
There will be continuous improvement in our clinical facilities, research laboratories and positively engaged interactions with the community around us.
It is our hope and expectation that products of our postgraduate education programs will be as productive and competitive in view of education and innovation as world class.
